Beast of Reincarnation is a single-player action RPG by GAME FREAK and Fictions. It follows Emma and Koo across a transformed Japan in the year 4026. On Steam, the base game is AppID 2001760 and unlocks worldwide at 00:00 UTC on August 4, 2026. This FAQ records the first-party state checked on August 1 and marks preview-only observations where they help.
Release and product questions
Why can Steam say August 3?
The global unlock falls on the evening of August 3 in American time zones. The publisher explicitly explained the display difference in the July 30 announcement. It is the same launch moment, not an earlier American edition.
Is preload available?
Yes at the check date, for Steam pre-orders and eligible keys activated on Steam. Preload transfers encrypted full-game data. It is not playable early access or a demo.
Is there a demo or Steam Playtest?
No public demo or Playtest was listed. A developer-marked discussion response said a demo was not currently planned and was still to be determined. Unnamed package-linked AppIDs are not evidence of a trial.
Does Deluxe unlock sooner?
No first-party source gives Deluxe early access. Standard and Deluxe point to the same release. Deluxe bundles named items; it is not a separate base-game AppID.
Gameplay and world questions
Who are the playable partners?
Emma is the human protagonist who moves and fights in real time. Koo is her canine companion and uses Bloom Arts through a command menu that slows combat. Official descriptions make their partnership the central mechanical and narrative relationship.
How does combat work?
Emma blocks, parries, attacks, and can use aggressive, ranged, or stealth-oriented approaches. Successful parries restore FP. Koo’s Bloom Arts consume FP. Enemies have health and a Down Gauge; filling Down creates an opening for a powerful attack or takedown.
Is it a Soulslike?
The developer does not primarily use that label. A developer-marked Steam reply says the team does not really call it Soulslike. It is safer to describe the documented systems than to import rules from another series.
Is the world open world?
First-party material describes a westward journey through distinct environments. A Game Informer hands-on preview characterizes the played structure as stage-based rather than a seamless open world. The complete region and return-travel structure needs the release build.
What difficulty settings exist?
Story, Normal, and Hard are confirmed. Story reduces enemy damage and makes parry timing more forgiving. Exact modifiers, change rules, and difficulty-specific rewards were not published before launch.
Story and scope questions
What is the premise?
Japan in 4026 has been reshaped by the Blight. Emma and Koo travel west, confronting corrupted beings and the forces behind the transformation. Official material calls powerful boss-like entities Nushi and connects defeating them to Koo gaining abilities.
How long is the game?
Game Informer’s preview attributes an approximately 30-hour estimate to the director. Treat that as an attributed pre-release estimate, not a measured universal completion time. Difficulty, exploration, and player pace can change the result.
Are endings or New Game Plus confirmed?
The reviewed sources did not define ending count, ending conditions, post-game structure, or New Game Plus. Any answer before public completion evidence would be speculation.
Is it multiplayer?
No. Steam and Fictions identify Beast of Reincarnation as single-player. There is no confirmed co-op, PvP, cross-play, or dedicated-server scope.
Steam and PC questions
Which PC operating systems are supported?
The native requirements list Windows only. Minimum specifies Windows 10/11 and recommended specifies Windows 11. Native Linux and macOS builds were not listed, and Proton or Steam Deck results were not yet verified.
What Steam features are listed?
Steam lists achievements, Steam Cloud, Family Sharing, and full controller support. Cloud does not mean console cross-save. Full controller support does not publish the exact final Windows button layout.
How much storage and memory are required?
Both hardware tiers list 16 GB RAM and 45 GB available SSD space. Additional temporary space may be useful during preload unpacking or updates. The Store’s number is not a promise that every installed folder will always equal exactly 45 GB.
Which languages are available?
The Store lists interface and subtitles in English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish from Spain, Portuguese from Brazil, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean. Full audio is listed for English and Japanese.
Is Steam Deck verified?
No verified Deck rating was established in the Store evidence checked here. Windows requirements and full controller support do not prove Proton compatibility, readable handheld UI, acceptable performance, or suspend/resume behavior.
Editions and item questions
What does a Standard pre-order include?
Fictions lists a Brown Shiba Koo skin and 30,000 Amber in addition to the base game. The final claim point inside a save was not published.
What is in Deluxe?
Deluxe includes Brown and Black Shiba Koo skins, Big Dipper, Oni’s Hat, 100,000 Amber, and Vegetable Seedlings. Inclusion does not prove that Big Dipper is best-in-slot or that the cosmetics have combat effects.
What are Spirit Stones and Charms?
Official material says Koo equips Charms with specialized bonuses, while Spirit Stones create effects based on battle actions. The release build must provide individual names, conditions, values, and stacking rules.
How these answers were checked
Core identity, features, languages, and hardware come from the Steam Store page. Systems and difficulty are supported by Kota Furushima’s official Developer_Direct explanation and current publisher material. Entitlements come from Fictions support. Game length and stage structure remain explicitly attributed to Game Informer’s preview, rather than promoted to final-build facts.
