Beast of Reincarnation Steam Deck Status

Check Beast of Reincarnation Steam Deck and Proton evidence separately from Windows requirements, full controller support, and Steam Cloud.

Beast of Reincarnation did not have a verified Steam Deck compatibility result in the Store evidence reviewed on 2026-08-01. The native PC requirements list Windows only. Steam also lists full controller support and Steam Cloud, but neither feature proves Proton compatibility, Deck performance, readable handheld UI, suspend/resume reliability, or correct video playback.

The accurate pre-launch status is unverified. It is not the same as Unsupported, and it should not be converted into a performance promise from the desktop minimum specification.

Distinguish four platform claims

Native Windows support is documented by the Store requirements. Native Linux would require a Linux build, which was not listed. Proton is Valve’s Windows compatibility layer and needs a tested result. Steam Deck Verified or Playable is Valve’s device classification with specific criteria.

These claims can differ. A Windows game can run through Proton without an official rating, receive Playable with caveats, or be Unsupported for a particular issue. Record the Store badge and date rather than collapsing all cases into “works on Linux.”

Do not infer Deck performance from controller support

Full controller support indicates intended controller operation, not GPU or CPU suitability. Deck also needs legible UI, compatible input prompts, functional launchers if any, media playback, and acceptable default behavior. Beast of Reincarnation’s duo commands may work well on a controller, but the final glyphs and remapping still require testing.

Steam Cloud helps move supported saves, but sync does not prove that the Proton build launches or that save paths align. Verify progress on both machines before relying on portability.

Compare hardware targets cautiously

The official minimum aims for Low 1080p 40 FPS under named upscaling conditions on GTX 1070 8 GB or RX 580 8 GB class graphics, with 16 GB RAM and an SSD. Steam Deck has a different integrated architecture, memory arrangement, resolution, and power envelope. A lower 1280×800 output can help GPU demand, but it does not produce a direct equivalence.

Do not promise 30 or 40 FPS before a launch benchmark. CPU-heavy traversal, shader behavior, video codecs, or Proton overhead can matter independently of pixel count.

Run a complete Deck test after unlock

Record SteamOS version, Proton selection, game version, storage, power limit if changed, resolution, complete settings, upscaler mode, frame cap, and overlay level. Start with default compatibility settings before forcing another Proton version.

Test startup, new game, menus, subtitles, cutscenes, ordinary traversal, a dense blighted area, combat, Koo’s slowed command menu, save/load, Cloud sync, suspend/resume, and exit. A title-screen launch is not a compatibility verdict.

Evaluate handheld presentation

Check text size, subtitle contrast, FP and Down visibility, controller glyphs, cursor behavior, and whether any action requires a virtual keyboard. Inspect aspect ratio, black bars, cutscene cropping, and UI overlap at the Deck’s native display.

Full controller support can still receive a Playable caveat for small text or manual keyboard invocation. Record the exact Valve detail when a rating appears. Do not summarize Playable as Verified.

Measure battery and frame pacing separately

Use a repeatable route and record average or range, low frame behavior, frame-time spikes, power draw, and approximate battery estimate under the tested settings. A locked cap can provide steadier delivery even when a higher average is possible. Include whether the first traversal stutters more than later passes.

Do not publish a battery duration from the OS estimate alone without stating conditions. Brightness, wireless activity, storage, and battery health can affect it.

Report Proton issues with exact scope

If the game fails, capture the stage: install, launch, intro media, menu, gameplay, save, or resume. Record Proton version and error without recommending unknown executable patches. Check official game news and Valve’s rating details. Community reports can guide reproduction but should not become a universal result from one device.

Native Linux and macOS remain separate questions. Successful Proton play is not a native Linux port, and it says nothing about macOS.

Deck evidence checkpoint

The Steam Store establishes Windows-only native requirements, full controller support, Cloud, and the corrected desktop targets. No Deck rating or first-party Proton result was verified at the 2026-08-01 checkpoint. Therefore all handheld settings, FPS, battery, suspend, UI, and codec claims remain pending direct public testing or a dated Valve compatibility report.
